Health Information Notice
SleepBit is a tool to record your sleep and snoring and watch how they change. It is not a service that diagnoses or treats disease.
What SleepBit does and does not do
| It does | It does not |
|---|---|
| Records sound and movement during sleep and shows figures and charts. | Diagnose sleep apnea or any other condition. |
| Compares your snoring ratio before and after you change a habit. | Recommend treatments or medicines. |
| Gives you records and general information to bring to a clinic visit. | Replace a clinician's tests such as a sleep study. |
Limits of the data
- Figures from a phone microphone and sensors depend on where the phone is, the room and background noise, and can be inaccurate.
- Sleep stages and scores are estimated from sound and movement; they are not a direct measurement of brain activity.
- "Suspected breathing pause" is a reference signal based on sound patterns. Whether breathing really stops can only be confirmed by medical testing.
When to see a clinician
Talk to a clinician if any of these apply, whatever the app shows:
- Someone has seen you stop breathing or gasp during sleep
- You are very sleepy in the daytime or doze while driving despite enough sleep
- You often wake with headaches, a dry mouth or choking at night
- You have high blood pressure or heart disease, or a child's snoring keeps going
If you have chest pain, trouble breathing or another emergency symptom, do not use the app; contact your local emergency number immediately.
Guides and sources
The guides on this site and in the app are based on public medical information and list their references. They do not replace care from a clinician and may change as medical knowledge changes. See the Terms of Service for related conditions.
